41st Annual Awards Banquet Weekend Celebration
The Annual Awards Banquet Weekend is the Mathews-Dickey Boys’ & Girls’ Club’s longest-running event. Each year, the gala commemorates the Club’s anniversary by recognizing 1,000 youth and adult award winners. The Club will celebrate its 41st Annual Awards
Banquet Weekend on February 16-17, 2002.
Six outstanding Mathews-Dickey alumni and 28 community leaders will be
honored at a private reception at 6 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, at Anheuser-Busch. Awards presented include The Spirit of St. Louis, Meritorious Community Service, In Appreciation of the Year and Memorial.
The celebration continues at noon, Sunday, Feb. 17, at the Adam’s Mark
Hotel. Veteran broadcaster Bill Wilkerson, who has emceed the anniversary gala for three decades, presides over a
family-oriented gala that features a mini-variety show of dazzling entertainment. Awards will be presented to the Mother & Father of the Year, Baseball and Football Hall of Fame, Coaches of the Year, youth Medal of Excellence and sports achievers.
