As the Mathews-Dickey Boys’ & Girls’ Club’s 50th Anniversary celebration chairman, Ameren VP of Customer Operations Richard Mark highlights the organization’s
year-long celebration plans and challenges the community to support the Golden anniversary campaign.

KTVI Fox 2’s Bonita Cornute and veteran broadcaster Bill Wilkerson serve as emcees for the 50th Anniversary Alumni Celebration & Awards Showcase.


 “The Fast Lane,” 101.1 FM, ESPN Radio host Randy Karraker and KMOV-TV, Channel 4 News Anchor Vickie Newton, depicted with Martin Mathews, receive the Club’s highest honor for their distinguished achievements and support of the Club’s career-readiness programs.


St. Louis Fire Department Chief & Commissioner Dennis Jenkerson is honored for his commitment to safety funding, equipment and training by Mathews-Dickey Board Chairman Rev. William Gillespie and KTVI’s Bonita Cornute.


The Outstanding Alumni Awards were bestowed by Mathews-Dickey Vice Chairman Rev. Earl Nance, Jr. and President, CEO & Co-Founder Martin L. Mathews (center) to (left to right) Joshua Curry, professional development teacher, Pierre Laclede Elementary; Tara “Peaches” Harris, senior consultant, AT&T; Candice Muhammad, engineer, The Boeing Company; and R. Laticha Green and Michael Roberts, Jr. were honored as Mother and Father of the Year Award by alumnus and Mathews-Dickey VP, Sports & Operations Tom Sullivan.


Custom bobbleheads were presented to Martin Luther Mathews and the late Hubert “Dickey” Ballentine’s granddaughter Kimberly MacLean by Club members Dwight Washington and Khylie Turner.

Mathews-Dickey Alumnus and Professional Opera Singer Clayton Mathews wowed the audience with his baritone performance of “Lord God of Abraham” as a tribute to his grandfather, Martin Mathews.

 


Club alumnus and professional recording artist Jamie “King James” Dennis delivers a stellar “Happy Birthday” rendition to Martin Mathews.

The family of the late Club Co-Founder Hubert “Dickey” Ballentine celebrate the 50th anniversary: granddaughter Kimberly MacLean, son-in-law Edward Jones and daughter Salimah Jones.

 


Mathews-Dickey members receive trophies in baseball, basketball, cheerleading and football at the 50th Anniversary Youth Trophy Showcase on February 14.
