Jack Buck Celebrity Night With the Stars
The Mathews-Dickey Boys’ & Girls’ Club’s “Jack Buck Celebrity Night with the Stars” fund-raiser is a great way to celebrate sports fever, enjoy delicious cuisine and bid on an exciting array of sports memorabilia. The 2003 event will take place, at 5:30 p.m., on Sunday, July 27. All proceeds benefit the Mathews-Dickey Sports Program.
Cardinals manager Tony LaRussa and St. Louis City Fire Chief Sherman George, are co-chairs for the dinner auction, which attracts close to 200 sports enthusiasts — adults and children. The honorary co-chairs are St. Louis Post-Dispatch President and Publisher Terry Egger and KPLR-TV Vice-President and General Manager Bill Lanesey. Cardinals’ organist Ernie Hays will provide musical fanfare and Fredbird will be a part of the event hoopla.
The highlight of the evening is a high level sports/celebrity memorabilia auction, featuring autographed items by Hall of Fame Cardinals legend Stan “The Man” Musial, Isaac Bruce and Marshall Faulk of the St. Louis Rams, and a number of exciting VIP ticket/dinner packages. The auction is supported each year by Cardinals Care, the St. Louis Blues and St. Louis Rams.
The event is dedicated in memory of the late Hall of Fame Broadcaster Jack Buck. CLICK HERE for tribute.
