13th Annual Sheer Elegance Fashion Show

Sheer Elegance Fashion Show, 2000
|
The Mathews-Dickey Boys’ & Girls’ Club will present its 13th Annual Sheer Elegance Fashion Show, Saturday, December 8, 2001, at the illustrious Adam’s Mark Hotel in downtown St. Louis. The holiday affair, sponsored by Famous-Barr, celebrates the Club’s efforts in helping children realize a promising tomorrow.
The Sheer Elegance Fashion Show, held annually since 1989 to benefit the Mathews-Dickey Girls’ Program, has blossomed under the gentle, steadfast guidance of a remarkable group of staff, volunteers and corporate sponsors. CLICK HERE to read the history of Sheer Elegance.
Celebrating its 13th anniversary, Sheer Elegance Fashion show will attrack 1,400 attendees — celebrities, community leaders and citizens committed to the St. Louis’ young people and to guiding them along the difficult path to adulthood. Sheer Elegance is certainly a fitting tribute to those supporters and the countless lives they have touched.
Themed “Chestnuts,” the 2001 gala’s motif is inspired by “The Christmas Song,” popularized by Nat King Cole, and the Adam’s Mark restaurant bearing that name. Lead chairwoman Deborah Patterson, president, The Monsanto Fund, and co-chair Jill Kummer, community volunteer, are committed to making this year’s fund-raiser the best ever.
Major sponsors include the Adams’ Mark
Hotel, Inc., Anheuser-Busch Companies, Emerson and The Monsanto Fund.
We are grateful to all the individuals and businesses who have made Sheer Elegance a success. Under the vision of Martin Mathews, Barbara Washington and dedicated supporters, such as “Big Charlie” Ruprecht, N. Evelyn Williams, Dick Casey, Robert Grote and others, the Girls’ Program continues to flourish. For more information, please contact Barbara Washington at 314-382-5952, Ext 234.
