The Sky Is The Limit Career-Readiness Program

CNN's Gail Evans encouraged young women to “Play Like a Man, Win Like a Woman”, as the 2002 Keynote speaker.

Professional women presented workshop sessions in career-readiness and workplace preparedness as part of the “Women in Careers” Workshop.

“The Sky Is The Limit“ is a career-readiness luncheon and workshop for 250 young women from the St. Louis and Metro East areas, involving junior-high and high-school participants from Mathews-Dickey and 17 area school districts: Clayton, East St. Louis, Ferguson-Florissant, Hazelwood, Kirkwood, Ladue, Lindbergh, Mehlville, Normandy, Parkway, Pattonville, Ritenour, Riverview Gardens, Rockwood, St. Charles, St. Louis Public Schools and Webster Groves.
Step one of the two-part program is the “Women in Careers” workshop. Professional women present workshop sessions focusing on different issues surrounding career-readiness and workplace preparedness. The 2003 workshop is scheduled, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 19, 2003 at Edward Jones corporate headquarters.
Part two is the luncheon which provides young women with an opportunity to meet and network with 250 outstanding female business owners and executives. Since its inception, the program has provided college scholarships to 125 young women and paired 1,750 students with career-building mentors. The 2003 luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at the Marriott Pavilion Hotel.
The program’s honorary chairwomen are Barbara Brack, wife of Time Inc. Chairman Emeritus Reginald Brack, and Virginia Busch, partner at Busch & Conard PC.
